16. eyes

they are the first things i notice. the first things that call out to me and say "i'm human".

innocent, round, large, narrow, devious, sweet.

first eyes, then hair. then hands and heartbeats.
as if they want to have a conversation.

eyes that take in everything. that lead to a soul. to a person.

his were hazel and the other boy's were blue. and her's were green.
and all the muddy brown ones, lost in dirt and pupils and pleading, were just as beautiful.
i wish they knew how much i loved those eyes of theirs.

i admire them. i admire people. what can i say? "i'm human, i'm human too."
